David Kimani, Senior Technical Officer
Profile
David Kimani is a Civil Engineer who has built his profession over a period of 15 years. His works have included supervision of earth dams, drilling and rehabilitation of boreholes, water harvesting programs in schools and other institutions in addition to hygiene education promotion.
He has worked in different capacities and on different water development projects both with the government such as in Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) and the NGO sector. David has worked with Kenya Red Cross as a project manager in charge of Makueni District under a water and sanitation project funded by ECHO (European Commission for Humanitarian Aid). He has accumulated adequate experience in planning, implementation and operations of small scale water and sanitation projects and other civil and construction works within the public and private sectors.
Kimani comes with skills in participatory community mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, development of O and M manuals and training of community artisans in matters of construction.
Currently Kimani is involved in the supervision and implementation of water and sanitation projects in the informal settlements, supervising the technical team, training of community artisans in construction, pipe works and operation and maintenance. This is in addition to formulation of BoQs and costing of projects.
