Ruth Nthambi Nzomo has a working experience in Kenya on social work and counseling. She has moved from an intern to volunteer and finally social worker & counselor in different organizations. She has worked with Amani ya Juu Women’s Sewing Project Researching on how vocational training could eradicate poverty Kenya. She also had a short stint at Chiromo Lane Medical Center ( Private Psychiatric Hospital & Drug rehabilitation center) doing counseling for drug abuse & the psychologically ill. She also interned with African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF)- Dagorretti Child in Need project where she was involved in counseling and training of street, abused, neglected and vulnerable children. Maji Na Ufanisi (Water and Development) Community Organizer interning in the Community Organizing Department.

Ruth joined Maji na Ufanisi as a volunteer and due to her zeal and commitment to community work she joined MnU as a Community Organizer to facilitate implementation of Kibera Integrated, Water, Sanitation, Environmental & Solid Waste Management Project ( K-WATSAN); A collaborative project between Maji Na Ufanisi, UN-HABITAT and the Government of Kenya. The project aims towards upgrading Kibera Slum; Africa’s second biggest Slum by supporting small- scale community based initiatives in Water, Sanitation and waste Management.

While at Maji na Ufanisi, she has is in charge of setting up a resource centre for MnU. She is an organized and self motivated team player.
