NANCY GITHAIGA, Programme Manager- Environment
Profile
Nancy GITHAIGA is a program manager with Maji na Ufanisi. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Hydrology and a BSc degree in Appropriate Technology. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Water Resources Management at Kenyatta University.
Nancy has broad experience in Environmental Issues. Before her current position, she worked with ECOCARE, an environmental organization as a programme officer in charge of Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Audits. She has undertaken several researches in both water and renewable energy technologies. Nancy has great interest in sustainable development with respect to man and the biosphere. Specifically, use of Environmental Technology to mitigate against the damage to the environment and human health.
In Maji na Ufanisi, Nancy is in charge of managing the Environmental Programme which includes; coordinating a project of community based solid waste management system, spearheading Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) component in the organization in addition monitoring and evaluation. As a manager in the organization she handles managerial duties and coordinates the research and documentation component. She is an outcome oriented person and a team leader and pacesetter.
