Through practical experiences, Maji na Ufanisi has demonstrated that sustainable and equitable WES services are essential in the achievement of MDGs. The organization has done a lot of commendable work which has been frequently acclaimed by sister NGOs, public offices and the private sector.
In this regard, in 2006 MnU received the Mashariki Innovations in Local Government Awards Programme (MILGAP) recognition for sustainability and leadership.
More recently, in October 2007, MnU was awarded the National Settlement Human Award, during the UN Habitat Day.
